– Poetry by Siobhan Robinson –

resilience

I know
I know you broke your bone
To fit their molds
And now you’re disfigured
From who you used to be
You aren’t alone.

I know
I know you cried alone
To fill the holes
And now you’re drained
Of the Energy you need
You aren’t alone

I know
I know you sold your soul
To fix their vote
And now you’re devalued
By the ones you used to seek
You aren’t alone

Because anyone that is strong
Must be seen as weak
But you have been through hell
And have fought your way out
You saw the devil and saved yourself
You are not burned
You are brave
You have survived the loneliest of days

And if your bones break again
And the holes reopen
And your souls repurchased
You aren’t alone
And you will heal yourself, again
too.

tranquil.

I’ve been drowning for so long
I forgot how to trust the waters that let me float

About the Author – Siobhan Robinson
Siobhan Robinson

My name is Siobhan Robinson, I’m 21 years old from a small town in British Columbia, Canada. I’m intrinsically motivated to write poetry as it gives me a sense of catharsis. After experiencing an abusive relationship wherein I felt silenced, my poems gave me the voice I thought I’d lost. I’ll be self publishing a book of poems based around mental health, relationships and addictions in the near future and I have an instagram account dedicated to poetry @distillxd. I hope to one day inspire someone who went through what I did, and to be their voice when they feel they’ve lost theirs, too.
