– Two More Poems by James Brandon –
January 10, 2018
Dragon’s Fire
It comes out of me
like dragon’s fire
and I want to push it
just a little too far;
just far enough
that you’d hear me and be like
“What?”
and burn to a crisp.
Sick of Dancing
You’re dancing on spider webs.
You keep the trains on time
but can’t catch me
up.
You’re holding back a flood,
and I’m full of plaster.
You really crack me
up.
You’re flying high as a kite
I’m full of holes, patch me up.
You’re ripe with decay and
the flies are all over you.
Don’t they see you dancing?
Ha! You’ll eat them
up.
I can wait
until you’re sick of dancing.
